Every culture has special wedding rituals – some colorful, some mesmerizing – all interesting. Hindu weddings have some of the most elaborate rituals of any culture. Colorful costumes, beautiful decorations, delicious food, big gathering of family, and lots of music mark a typical Hindu wedding. The celebration is spread over several days. The extended family gathers at the wedding destination days in advance. The important rituals are still followed in all their beauty, symbolism, and delicacy. We bridge the gap between past and the present - combining the color, symbolism, and richness of the past with the convenience and practicality of the twenty-first century, so that you are free to enjoy every moment of your wedding with your guests.
Everything from a casual meet and greet to a cocktail/ wine tasting/mehndi event followed by a celebratory dinner in an indoor/outdoor setting, complete with fire pits and chic lounge seating.
Indian weddings have some of the most beautiful pre wedding rituals to create a magical and enchanting atmosphere for the bride and groom, with their families and friends.
A Mehndi party is a night of fun with lots of food, music, and dancing. Traditionally, the bride would have intricate henna patterns applied to their hands and feet during the event. In modern times, the bride often opts to have a henna artist come to her home before the actual Mehndi party. Brides and grooms perform choreographed dance performances with close family and friends that are often rehearsed for months ahead. The dances are a form of friendly competition between both sides of the family. Women often sit on the ground in front of the couple singing songs and playing the dhol (a type of drum) surrounded by colorful throw pillows and festive décor. Later, everyone gets on the dance floor. As for décor, the Mehndi party is all about bright colors and being as creative as you want
Like the sangeet and mehndi, the haldi is a prewedding ritual common at traditional Indian weddings. The haldi ceremony is a significant prewedding event and ritual in almost every Indian regional wedding. The closest family, relatives and friends come together on this auspicious occasion to apply turmeric paste (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. Some families also smear chandan (sandalwood powder) with rose water on the bride's face and hands and shower flowers on the couples. The occasion is celebrated with dhol (drum beats), Bollywood songs and endless dancing.
The word sangeet is Sanskrit for "sung together." A sangeet ceremony is a traditional prewedding ceremony involving lots of festive dancing and celebratory songs. Historically, the Indian wedding tradition of a sangeet ceremony was a female-only event that was organized by the ladies of the bride and groom's families to celebrate the bride a few days before the main wedding ceremony. The word 'sangeet' is synonymous with the word 'song.' The ceremony involves singing and dancing with the couple and their close family members and friends to celebrate the onset of their new journey together. While many families still follow the traditional ritual of singing folk songs and dancing with dhols to tease and celebrate the bride, in recent years couples are also hosting the sangeet night together and performing on choreographed Bollywood songs with their best friends and family.
